The Automation Utility Action Pack is a dedicated toolkit for managing and maintaining the Broadcom Automic Automation Engine database from within Automic workflows. It wraps the native Automic utilities — DB Archive, DB Change, DB Client Copy, DB Load, DB Reorg and DB Unload — as reusable actions, plus higher-level combined processes for full-system and per-client backup and reorganisation. The Automation Utility Action Pack runs both interactively and in batch mode, making it equally suited for day-to-day administration and unattended maintenance windows.
Most Automic teams handle DB maintenance — archiving old records, reorganising the repository, running full or per-client backups, transporting objects between environments — with shell scripts around the Automic utility binaries. That approach is hard to standardise, hard to audit and hard to reuse across systems. The Automation Utility Action Pack replaces it with a structured, modular set of actions that can be reused across workflows and adapted to different Automic systems without rewriting logic.
