Description

The V26 Update & News module for Operators (English) builds on the Automic Operator Essentials and walks operators through the most important changes for daily monitoring introduced with Broadcom Automic Automation V26, the convergence release that brings the former SaaS-only features to on-premises and SaaS customers alike. Participants will explore the refreshed Automic Web Interface (AWI) with its new browser baseline, the connection color that now fills the entire menu bar, the 25 curated color presets and the new task status colors, as well as the enhanced Workflow Monitor with five traffic lights, task property icons, per-task progress bars, recalibrated zoom, new filter criteria and the separate Time and Dependencies tabs. The module introduces the Intelligent Assistant hub with the Automation Assistant and its context-sensitive predefined prompts, Analyze Report and Analyze Execution, actions via MCP and the token usage pie chart, plus the AI Filter Assistant for natural-language filtering of the Tasks, Agents, object search and SLOs lists. Operators also learn how to monitor and read AI Jobs and Python Jobs, including the new PIP report, and how the automatic authentication of new Agents shows up in the Agents list. The deprecation of the RA REST and RA FTP Agents in favor of IG integrations and the end-of-support pre-announcements for the Automation Engine on AIX and DB2 as backend database complete the picture. Five practical use cases and five hands-on exercises round out the module in Broadcom Automic Automation V26.

3. Workflow Monitor

• Per-task progress bars based on the Expected Runtime (ERT) and the critical path

• Recalibrated zoom thresholds with a longer-lasting Full Card view

• Use Case: triage with the refreshed Workflow Monitor

6. Agent Authentication

• Automatic authentication for new Agents created in V26 with the LOCAL method via AWI, REST API, or Java API

Prerequisites

This module builds on the Automic Operator Essentials. Prior operational experience with Automic Automation is therefore required — it is not suitable as an entry-level course.

Participants should be comfortable with the following:

• Working in the Automic Web Interface (AWI), especially the Process Monitoring and Administration perspectives

• Using the Tasks list and Executions lists to monitor tasks, including filtering, comments, and the standard task functions such as restart and cancel

• Reading Workflows (JOBP) in the Workflow Monitor, including task statuses, the Properties pane, and the Details pane

• Opening and interpreting Job reports to triage failures and prepare incident notes or shift handovers

• Checking Agents and their status in the Agents list

A basic understanding of the following areas is helpful but not mandatory:

• Basic concepts of Large Language Models and prompting for the Intelligent Assistant and AI Filter Assistant blocks

• Awareness of Python and package managers (PIP) for reading Python Job reports

• Familiarity with your organization's SLAs, runbooks, and escalation procedures, which the use cases build on

To follow the exercises, a working AWI connection to a V26 system with the Intelligent Assistant enabled is recommended, as well as a supported browser (Chrome 138+, Edge 138+, Firefox 140+, or Safari 18.5+). The AI Job exercise requires an AI Connection object configured by your administrator. If your environment is still on V24, most monitoring topics still apply conceptually, but the refreshed AWI and the AI features will not be visible until you upgrade.
