The V26 Update & News module for Users (English) builds on the Automic User Essentials and walks users and developers through the most important new features and enhancements introduced with Broadcom Automic Automation V26, the release that brings feature parity between on-premises and SaaS. Participants will explore the modernized Automic Web Interface (AWI) with its curated connection colors and new task status colors, the redesigned Workflow Editor and Workflow Monitor with task property icons, enhanced filtering, five traffic lights and per-task progress bars, and the new AI capabilities: the Intelligent Assistant hub, the AI Filter Assistant, AI Jobs and AI Connection objects, MCP integration, AI-Augmented Workflow Creation and the Code Assistant in the script editor. The module covers the native Python integration with the new Python Job types, the PIP report, the _automic_variables dictionary and array transfer via automic_register_variable, as well as the new scripting elements REGEX_MATCH, REGEX_REPLACE, PREP_PROCESS_REGEX, the text container statements (SORT, UNIQ, GREP, MODIFY, CAT, CUT, HEAD, TAIL, SWAP) and BEGIN_AI_CHAT / ASK_AI with ChatID. Cloud integration agents, the REST API endpoints for object versions and the deprecation of the RA REST and RA FTP Agents complete the picture. Four practical use cases and five hands-on exercises round out the module in Broadcom Automic Automation V26.

Prerequisites

This module builds on the Automic User Essentials. Prior experience with Automic Automation is therefore required — it is not suitable as an entry-level course.

Participants should be comfortable with the following:

• Working in the Automic Web Interface (AWI), including the Process Assembly and Process Monitoring perspectives

• Using the Workflow Editor and the Workflow Monitor to design and monitor Workflows (JOBP)

• Creating and executing Jobs (JOBS) and reading their reports (ACT, REP, POST)

• The basics of the Automation Engine scripting language, including variables and :PSET

A basic understanding of the following areas is helpful but not mandatory:

• Advanced AE scripting as covered in Automic User Script Essentials, especially for the regex and text container blocks

• Python fundamentals for the Python integration blocks

• Basic concepts of Large Language Models and REST APIs

To follow the AI exercises, a working AWI connection to a V26 system with the Automation.AI component is recommended. If your environment is still on V24, most topics still apply conceptually, but the AI features will not be visible until you upgrade.
